Where can I get plans for a community bat house? Plans for community bat houses are different depending on the species you are likely to attract. If you expect to attract little brown bats (Myotis lucifugus) or other myotis species we recommend building a Pennsylvania Bat Condo, designed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Contact us for information. If you live within the range of the Mexican or Brazilian free-tailed bat (Tadarida brasiliensis) we recommend building a structure with an open bottom design. We are working with our partners right now to develop construction plans. You can contribute to this effort by contacting BCI. Plans should be available in 2008. Please contact our Artificial Roost Coordinator for current information and plans for constructing these roosts.
